Hi,

I was trying to restore the files on OBR directory in to a
new installation of Mobile Office. I followed the steps
indicated on the administration guide and was able to
restore the backup data. Whenever I'm trying to edit the
settings of a particular user I'm getting this error
message:

"Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to
a COM component. The current operation may not have
completed correctly"

Did I miss something out?

Thanks,
chan

Hi Chan,

this type of restore has been done a lot before. So I expect something
has gone wrong.

Classic breaking points are:
- Some step in the restore procedure was missed
- RDP/ Remote Desktop was used
- Installation of the new iMO server has gone astray

I recommend to reinstall iMO again on your new server.
1. Reinstall iMO
2. Check if it is working ok, by connecting a test device
3. Run the documented MOrecover procedure

Make sure you do not use RDP / Remote Desktop for any of these
operations (not even /console or /admin mode). VNC is fine.

Cheers,
Dirk

Hi Chan,

I do not see a difference in this context between hardware and virtual
machines.

The remote access protocol (RDP) is know to cause issues during
installation of software.
No issues are to be expected if you use the VMware server console as it
is not RDP based.
