Hi

I was told in the forum for Onebridge to go to this forum
and find details regarding the possibilities of using Mobile
Office on android platforms. For me it doesn't look like
there are any news?
Please let me know when to expect that the product spec. for
Mobile Office includes Android together with Windows Mobile,
Symbian and iPhone!

Looking forward to and useful answer

Best regards
N.K.

Hi,

WindowsMobile + Symbian + iPhone + iPad are already supported with the
iAnywhere Mobile Office server.

Android is planned as far as I know, but I can not give you any planned
release dates. If you require more detailed information on this, please
check with our sales team. They may be able to share some of that
information.

Cheers,
Dirk

Hi Paul

The company where I work is a bit conservative regarding the
use of software. They use Onebridge... What are the
differences from onebridge to Mobile Office? Is it directly
convertable? Is it possible run both in the same company
VERY easy? It has to work on a windows exchange server...

/N.K.

Hi,

OneBridge (OB) and iAnywhere Mobile Office (iMO) are very different, and
then they are not. :-)

The end user will notice the biggest difference. The iMO usability is
much much better. iMO keeps almost completely in the background and for
the user it seems as if his data is just "there". No more manual
interaction. The user experience is at least on the same level as with
RIM and MS Exchange ActiveSync Push (I think).

The underlying protocol and technology is very much the same. OB + iMO
share the same transport security and the Sybase Traveler Protocol is
also almost the same.

Due this same protocoll, they can even use the same DMZ Proxy. And
update to the proxy may be required, but you do not need even to open
additional firewall ports.

For Exchange we need some more rights for the technical user.

Suggestion:
- Get a VM and install a iMO 30 day Trail.
- Ask some of your higher management, if they want to test their iPhone
with iMO.
- After that, you will get internally all you need for the migration. :-)

BUT: Keep in mind - we do overwrite personal contacts upon first connect
and overwrite them with the contacts of the Exchange users.

Cool: Our sandbox approach is one of the few software solutions on the
iPhone that provides a corporate security level!

Recommended: Check if your OneBridge server still is under software
maintenance. If yes, you can move to iMO for free.

Cheers,
Dirk
