Hi Edgar,

Since I talked to you last, I've made a bunch of changes:

Opened the following ports on the server:

UDP - 6262
TCP/IP - 6262
UDP - 2001 (Internet)
TCP/IP - 2001 (Internet)

Some other facts:

Server: Windows Home Server (2003)
Name of the Server: BENTLEY
IP of the server: wgbentley.homeserver.com
Workstation: Running Win 7 (64 bit), ADS 10.0 beta, and ARC 9.99.0.

Can successfully connect to the database on any of the PCs (4) on the
network using the NewPlanRemote connection.

When I try to connect to the database using NewPlanInternet, I get a 6610.
It obviously tries to connect but eventually fails. I can connect to the
server via browser and can successfully log onto the server using IE. I've
tried to connect to the database without and with logging onto the server
with the same results. I ping wgbentley.homeserver.com and get
174.97.221.75. I've tried using the IP address rather than
wgbentley.homeserver.com and get the same results.

I have printed out the tips for solving the 6610 problem from the Knowledge
base and will work on that later today. Was just wondering if you had any
immediate ideas.

Thanks for your help.......Bill Bentley

The ADS.INI file is shown below. The file is located in the Windows

did you also set up a port forwarding rule on your router for these
ports to your ADS server?

Thanks Joachim,

I made some other changes as well as port forwarding and it worked!

Thanks so much for your help....I may get there yet! Now if we just get NASA
to move we may be ready to go.

BTW, the other changes I made were:

1. Set up my server with a static IP address.
2. Signed up for OpenDns service ($10.00 per year for 5 users). It has made
a tremendous difference in Internet speed.
3. And finally port forwarding on my local Linksys router.

Thanks again.....look forward to seeing you guys later this summer......Bill
B. I think it's my time to buy you guys a beer or two!

Check if any USB or FIREWIRE drive is also using that drive letter
(and i notz shown in the Explorer - see @ the system setup/dirve
management).

Attaching "strange" USB devices cause XP to use the drive letter
multiple times if the USB devis usually use that drive but is was
mapped by a network drive.
