ASE 15.0 with jConnect 6.05

I see that a SET command can be issued on each connection to change the
string_rtruncation setting to "on", but is there a way to change the
default to "on"?

I've been combing through the docs and can't find such an option. Looks
like there was a database option in an older ASE release, but not any more.

Use a login trigger and set the option in the login trigger. Though I
did not ever try this particular option myself, it shouls work..
Info on login triggers is at www.sypron.nl/logtrig.html

This option enables ANSI behaviour (string truncation raises an error).

Thanks, Rob.

That was my conclusion as well. The test developer created the trigger
and reported that it is working as hoped.

I would look at the jConnect "SqlInitString" connection parameter.
Issuing the "set command" there is a very good place to put it.
