Good morning,

I am doing some initial research into Afaria for mobile
device management and am doing a side by side comparison of
MSuite, GoodLink and Afaria right now. Frankly, the product
white papers aren't cutting it for me since there is much
terminology but no consensus on any of it.

So, here are my questions....

1)I assume the SSL encryption to be for the laptop/computer
side of things with Afaria and the mobile devices are using
the standard 128bit AES. Is this correct as I also see in
the screenshots, mention of other encryption standards?

2)I find it funny that when theere is a mention of "Profile
managed policies, using schedules and monitors" then reading
"Policies are pushed in real time eliminating the need for
scheduling". How do these two distinct statements gel? I
mean, if there is no need to schedule policy pushes then why
build scheduling into the app?

3)For device management, what are the methods? Is there a
web portal and a server side client?

4) For users who do not have a computer (field users)and in
an environment using either LDAP or AD authentication, and
the password expires, how is this handled on the device?
Will there be issues in renewing the password once expired
if using only a Windows Mobile device?

5) Are there any devices (cell phones) that we should steer
clear of because they do not "play" well with Afaria?

Thats about all for now. I appreciate any info.

-Marc
