M-Biz Server 6.2.

Hi all,

We have a problem synchronsing on one of our development servers. The
client times out with an SQLE Communications error message.

On the server, I have the following error message shown in the M-Biz
Error.jpg file.

In the Admin Server log, I have the following error message:
Unable to communicate with device, shutting down.
Web Content: OK
Databases: OK

In the event viewer logs, I have the following errors:

24/01/2010 21:59:46
TIMED: fetching: never finished

19/06/2009 09:37:43
Faulting application agd.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module ntdll.dll,
version 5.2.3790.4455, fault address 0x0001a379.

24/08/2010 13:44:50
Faulting application agd.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module
jscompiler.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x0001c7c8.

17/01/2009 23:27:26
Fetching sync event URL [http://0/] failed.

Any ideas what the problem could be?

Cheers,

Shao

I have just realised that one group can be synched fine. Another group
causes this set of errors. Why would that be?

It seems that there's some type of (network?) error with your SOAP
channel in this instance:

==========
2010-08-24 14:34:22 StandardManager[/device] IOException while loading
persisted sessions: java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted;
java.io.NotSerializableException: com.ia.ui.soap.SoapChannels$Channels
java.io.WriteAbortedException: writing aborted;
java.io.NotSerializableException: com.ia.ui.soap.SoapChannels$Channels
...
==========

Is there a group channel available to the problematic group that's not
available to the 'okay' group?

This is a hard crash of the client that may require an upgrade - what is
the full build number for the M-Business 6.2 client that you're using?

Hi Jeff,

I installed the application on another server as I thought that some of the
errors are related to something else - although I need to track those down
also.

However, when I installed our application on the new server, this is the
only error message that appears:
wrong offset in device push request: offset revd=941, dataLen=0

I have sent a reproduceable to Sybase, but its not a reproduceable that is
only a few lines of code.

Basically, I have sent our entire app, but demonstrated that if I comment
out 3 lines of HTML code, its fine, but if those 3 lines are code are put
back in, it will trip up the sync server. However, those 3 lines of code in
itself are absolutely fine.

Cheers,

Shao

This most definitely sounds like a client bug then. The fact that the
client behaves differently and crashes with the presence of these lines
suggests that you will likely be looking at a client patch.

Technical support should be able to help you out here - please let us
know if you find a resolution.

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for that.

I have been working with iAnywhere Support UK and they have been able to
reproduce the problem and raised (QTS 639225).

I have requested a fix in the latest client and also if possible whether its
possible to workaround this bug (e.g. moving code into separate libraries
etc). However, I don't know what limit is being reached and where as to
what will circumvent this issue.

Cheers,

Shao
