Hi all,
I have the recommendation to use remote tables (proxy
tables) and remote procedure calls to a Microsoft SQL Server
Database. Is this possible? And how will this be done and
setup? We use Sybase ASE Version 12.6

In order to create proxy tables in ASE that point to MSSQL tables, you need
a product from Sybase called EnterpriseConnect Data Access (ECDA). It
allows you to treat the MSSQL instance like it were another ASE server and
create proxy tables and remotely execute procedures.

regardless of the ASE version, my advice about ECDA earlier in the thread
stands.
