bevor I updatet from OS 3.1.3 to 4 on iphone there was a
push function in Ianywhere. Now I get my mails only if
ianywhere is active and not during background why?

this is a question of perspective :-)

Actually, you did not get background emails (data) with iMO in the past.
It probably just looked like it.
The iMO client works on iOS3 & iOS4 the same. It can only get data when
it is active. Once closed, the OS shuts down the process and not data
can be delivered.

With the new iOS4 we do have the opportunity to do more background
action, but this has not yet been implemented as far as I know.

What I understand is, that an updated iOS 4 device is working slower as
it did with iOS 3. In this context you may now notice more that before
that the iMO client gets the data only when active.
