My default tempdb is set to full recover (sp_help -
durability column) in my cluster. Is this normal? I don't
see any info on this in the cluster docs? Normally tempdb is
set to no recover.

thx,

Look at the information in the Cluster Users Guide about the tempdb's.
There are three types of temp dbs in the Cluster Edition.

tempdb is shared by all instances and is durable across instance
failures. It is refreshed at Cluster restart (so it is not durable
there). So it goes thru recovery like other database during instance
failure.

Local System tempdbs is for #tables and local work and it is not
durable. It is required for each instance.

Local User tempdb is instance specific and optional.
