Good afternoon,

I am having a problem where I believe that the ODBC OLEDB drivers are not
properly installed (I am using the 15.x client install for this purpose)

It seems that when I go to the ODBC control panel I can create a connection
to the database and test connection successfully it works just fine but when
I try to use it from my program it is not creating the connection as
expected and fails.

I have tried the same program on a different machine and everything seems to
be okay but just not on this particular machine.

Any ideas.

Good afternoon,

After a little more digging it seems that the driver name being used is
Provider=ASEOLEDB.1; whereas on the other machines it is using
Provider=ASEOLEDB

What controls this driver name and how do I reset it on the target machine
so it is consistent with the other machines.

Problem solved the driver was not being registered properly under Windows
2008 due to UAC (as far as I can tell)

When I turned off UAC and reinstalled everything worked fine with my test
client.
