Error 6420

We are moving a customer off their older 32bit 2003 server ADS vers 8.x I
believe ,
the old server has been stable and up and running for 3 or 4 years

the new Windows 2008 x64 server has ADS 64bit 10.1 installed , now when
running our
application and accessing the database on the new server we randomly can not
connect and
get the 6420, maybe the next attempt we connect and all seems fine for a few
minutes,
do several table updates and bang 6420

I'm running ping -t in a dos window and see no problems at the time the
advantage server connection is lost

we have many advantage server installations and do not have this issue any
ideas
what I can try

thanks

Kevin

Kevin

Get rid of the discovery process by using ADS.INI to nominate the IP address
of the server
That way you don't get 6420 errors
