with only non-clustered indexes, how much of the table will
be 'disorganized' or have "forwarded rows and gaps between
rows on a page" which have to be set right?

also this table is an archive table which is frequently
purged and new data pushed in. so is reorg rebuilt
meaningful atall on such a table?

appreciate any insights.

depends on the processing done on the table. If rows
are often deleted or updated in ways that expand them,
you can wind up with considerable free space on the
data pages.

This sounds like a fairly read-only table. I'd expect
it to be fairly compact after being purged and new
data pushed in (with no clustered index causing page
splits). So probably not.
