Hi,
I have installed the odbc driver (dbodbc9.dll) for SQL
Anywhere 9 on a 64bit Windows 7 system. When I try to select
the driver on the System DNS tab in the ODBC Data Source
Administrator dialog I get the following error: "The setup
routines for the Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0 ODBC driver
could not be loaded due to system error code 193". This
means I can not configure the driver with username and
password, and this worked fine on Windows XP. Any
suggestions?
Best regards
Jorgen

Hello Jorgen,

When you launch the ODBC Administrator, which version are you launching?
Is it:

C:\Windows\System32\odbcad32.exe
or
C:\Windows\SysWow64\odbcad32.exe ?

Try launching the "SysWow64" (32-bit) version and see if this resolves
the issue.

If it doesn't resolve the issue, which "dbodbc9.dll" file did you
deploy? Was it:

%ASANY9%\win32\dbodbc9.dll

or

%ASANY9%\x64\dbodbc9.dll ?

Also, how did you register the ODBC driver? Did you: "regsvr32
dbodbc9.dll" ? After you did this, where did the registry entries end up
in the system -

\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI
or
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI ?

Regards,

Thanks for your quick response. The syswow64 odbcad32.dll
(which I had no idea existed) did the trick. I managed to
connect to the sql anywhere db from sql server 2008
integration services, I still get some mapping errors when I
try to import to an sql server database (probably another
32bit vs 64 bit issue), but at least I was able to configure
the driver thanks to your advice.
I realise the mapping errors probably does not belong to
this forum, but of course if you have any suggestions I'll
appreciate it.
Again, thanks for helping, this was a big step forward!
Best regards
Jorgen
