Is there a ASE 12.5.4 /15 traceflag that can redirect
stacktrace away from errorlog to the application log?

No, the stacktrace info always goes to the ASE errorlog when the stack
trace is caused by an error.
Only when you run 'dbcc stacktrace(spid)' manually will the output go to
the client (if you have 3604 enabled).
