Can anybody explain:

After
set temporary option temp_extract_name1 = '...some file'
.....
select something from something

the file will be generated, but after
set temporary option temp_extract_name1 = '' (to switch the
option off)

SQL statements follow are fully ignored.

The same in IQ 12.7 and 15.2

afterwards?

Can you post your actual code icluding all the semi colons,
go's and commits. Also if you are running via dbisql can you
please let me know if the commit after statement option is
on or off.

Thanks

Typical use looks so
......
commit;
set temporary option Temp_extract_name1 =
'/nbsx/sybase/siirto/ToruA';
set temporary option Temp_extract_binary = 'off';
set temporary option Temp_extract_column_delimiter = '|';
set temporary option temp_extract_null_as_zero = 'on';
select * from l_vara ;
set temporary option Temp_extract_name1 = '';
.......
SQL statements following this group of statements are not
executed.

Mmmm, I just ran your code below and put some code after it,
ran it all in one batch and it all worked fine. Are you in
chained or unchained mode?

Another thing to try is setting the ON_TSQL_ERROR option to
'STOP' as if it is on CONTINUE or CONDITIONAL it can
sometimes not report errors!!

e.g.

SET TEMPORARY OPTION ON_TSQL_ERROR='STOP';
set temporary option Temp_extract_name1 =
'/nbsx/sybase/siirto/ToruA';
set temporary option Temp_extract_binary = 'off';
........

Exceute you code in the same sessions
