Dear all,

We are developing a tool on top of Sybase IQ. The database in IQ is
populated using microbatching technique. we are considering using a
connection pool but my concern is related to versioning.

Is there a specific way to configure connection pools to avoid holding
too many versions? we do not have experience developing tools on top of
Sybase IQ so any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,

I.

Hi Mrs. Ignacio,

I do understand you are doing lot of small inserts, updates
or deletes. Is this what you mean with microbatches?

When you want to avoid storing many version snapshots just
finish your transactions as early as possible.
Keep in mind a SELECT in ASIQ is reapeatable read.
Therefore you need to finish your SELECT transaction with
COMMIT or ROLLBACK.

Hope that helps.
