I am trying to convert our huge application from PB11.5 to
web using Appeon 6.5. We don't use PFC and have our own
framework. In our application we have overridden most of dw
related system functions like InsertRow, DeleteRow,
retrieve, filter, update, etc in the ancestor of dw control.
Appeon help says overriding system function is not
supported. But these functions seems to be working fine in
some cases like inserting/deleting a row, updating,
retrieve. But overall application randomly crashes. Some
window don't open and similar windows do work fine. for some
of the issues we don't know why they are not working. Anyway
my point is should we change our application to not override
the system function? It's lot of work but we won't mind
doing this exercise if can solve our random issues/GPFs.
thanks

Hi John;

Can you tell us ...

1) What build of PB are you using?
2) What release of Appeon?
3) How is Appeon configured (J2EE versus .Net web server)?
4) What DBMS and connectivity mechanism are you using?

FWIW: Random crashes do not necessarily point to a problem with over-riding
system functions - unless, it happens at the same place each time that does
use this PB function feature.
