Hi,

Is it possible to get the last access time of a table in sybase?

sp_help only shows "create time" for a table.

Thanks,
Ray

Not unless you are actively monitoring such activity with any of a number of
various vendor supplied tools, or ASE based approaches. Something you would
want to be able to turn on and off since that can be a potentially resource
draining concept if used incorrectly.

Take a look at the master..monOpenObjectActivity.LastUsedDate column.

This column isn't 100% accurate, and it's only available for querying for object descriptors that are currently in
memory ... sooooo, not ideal, but maybe good enough for what you're looking for?

i dont have answer for you as it is already suggested by
gurus. but if you do need last access time, then you need to
know more than 'when' attributes i.e. who, from where, which
app etc. If u get xyz time somehow it might not be good
enough. say dba sitting beside you overheard you and ran
select count(*) on that table then it wouldnt count as
reliable info.
