Hi All,

In pre ASE 15.7, When you offline an engine, if engine(s)
was assigned to a task, it wont go offline until the task is
done as there was no option to force the task to another
engine. In 15.7 threaded model, it's mentioned that engine
load balancing is done and task can switch to another engine
so does that mean if I offline a thread I can transfer the
task assigned to a thread and offline it immediately ? Also
can I tell the kernel to transfer the running task to a
particular thread in particular thread pool ?

Regards,
Ram

When the engine (thread) is offline, the tasks can run on other engines
in that thread pool. And when the thread pool is deleted, the tasks are
moved to the syb_default_pool.

There is no way currently to tell the kernel to run that task on a
particular engine (in a particular thread pool). You can indeed later
bind the task to a particular thread poll using Logical process
management (LPM).
