With all the emphasis on web services, why isn't there better XML
support in PowerBuilder outside the datawindow? PBDOM is very
rudimentary and apparently hasn't had any improvements in the last
several versions.

And now that I've managed to make PBDOM do what I need it to do, I have
just found that it's not compatible with Appeon (yes, I realize that's a
completely different issue outside Sybase's control).

You have access to all the XML system classes in the .NET framework...

Yuck. I'd really rather not have to deal with the .Net framework
problems on the client computers. One of the reasons we're not using
PB.Net is to avoid .Net. :)

What .Net framework problems are you referring to?

Deployment, version problems, etc. We have people using our software in
over 100 different locations, and we'd prefer to keep things simple.

There is nothing in .Net that outweighs the simplicity of just dropping
files in a folder and having it work.
