I had deployed a PowerBuilder application using Powerbuilder
webform deployment, but because of layout problems I'm
testing the Appeon. Everything seems to work great, but the
performance has got very slow.
For example, when I open any item form application menu, it
loads very slow. Meanwhile the messages in the status bar of
the Internet Explorer are:'Constructing Controls' and
'Opening window'. It is important to note that same
application when deployed with Powerbuilder webform loads
much faster.
So my question is that, is there anyway to optimize the
performance and make it a little faster? Thanks.
PS. Could it be that I'm using IIS 5.1 web server on Windows
XP?

Hi Jay;

Have you ....

1) In AEM => Set the database Connection Cache "minimum" connections > 0?
2) In AEM => For the database Connection Cache did you use a NATIVE db
driver?
3) In AEM => Set the DataWindow caching ON?
4) In AEM => Set your "Application" caching to a reasonable value (default
could be too low)?
5) In AD => Did you ask to deploy your application objects using the 10x
compression feature?
6) In AD => Did you ask for the "Heavy Window" report?
7) In AD => Did you ask for the "Appeon Performance Analyzer" to be used?

AD - Appeon Developer
AEM - Appeon Enterprise Manager

FWIW: In all my test application cases, the Appeon version runs 2-10x faster
than its Webform counter-part.

Hi Jay;

Sorry, going a bit from (old - <bg>) memory ... yes, you are correct -
"Minimum Connection Pool Size". This value should be at least 2.
