When I run this application in the powerbuilder, the PFC
login box appears, and it asks for username and password.

I have implemented a PFC login window in my application
which asks for username and password. If the username and
password is incorrect, it returns -1 and if it is correct it
returns 0. However when I deploy this application with
APPEON, it does not seem to care what username and password
i put. Even if the username is wrong, it will return 0
instead of -1. What I'm doing wrong? Why it does not return
-1 ?

The code to check the login username and password in my
application is:

SQLCA.DBMS = "ODBC"
SQLCA.AutoCommit = False
SQLCA.DBParm = "ConnectString='DSN=demo_db;UID=" + as_userid
+ ";PWD=" + as_password + "'"

connect using SQLCA;

if SQLCA.sqlcode<>0 then
MessageBox ( "Cannot Connect to Database",
SQLCA.sqlerrtext, stopsign! )
return -1
end if

return 1

Hi Jay;

I have a few PFC applications running on Appeon with the Logon dialog
feature enabled.

They are working OK. However, I am using Appeon 6.5. If you are on an older
release of Appeon - you may need to replace the PFC layer with the AFC
framework (not needed in v6.0 or higher).

I'm also using 6.5. I'm using SQL Anywhere 12 and have an
ODBC profile in my computer. When I use the powerbuilder
application with PFC logon dialog, I do not need to put the
username and password of the database in the ODBC profile,
as it takes it from the PFC window.
However, if I keep the username and password empty in the
ODBC profile, the appeon web application will give error
that username/password is missing. So I guess it
automatically takes the username and password from the ODBC
profile and logins.
I think that it has some configuration problem in the AEM (I
have selected the Dynamic connection in the AEM).
Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.
