Hi

Is there any adverse impact to increasing config

'number of aux scan descriptors' 400 -> 600?

Thanks

maybe, maybe not, depends :D
the paremter is max descriptor val which could be used at
any one time by all connections and increasing it doesnt use
up too much memory. In a way it seems harmless. Though in
past I had to increase this at one site as the developers
were admant in changing or rewriting query. One downside is
increasing value give devlopers room to write huge sql's
which might run fine with small dataset but *may* pose
issues with the real/huge dataset.
Why it is needed is the first thing to understand and then
maybe increase it if there is no efficient workaround at all
- just what i think.

its been difficult to identify the sql which might have
resulted in the high usage of aux descriptors which is why
we are considering increasing it. Tested in ua but thought I
would pose the question in case there are any obvious
negatives to increasing it upto 600

other than what the manuals and jobless states, not really. Try it in
test first
