Hi all,

my current customer needs a highly available ASE database to
support a critical 3rd party product. Their standard
platform is Windows.

From what I can see, ASE offers no high availability
solution that runs on Windows as of 15.7 (the High
Availability option supported Microsoft clusters in 15.5,
but not in 15.7, and Cluster Edition never ran on Windows).

Can it be true that Sybase doesn't offer high availability
on Windows?

TIA,
Klaus

Hi Klaus,

Yes, this is true for Windows 32 bit. This is what the docs says:
"Adaptive Server version 15.7 and later does not support high
availability on Windows x86 32-bit."

For Windows 64bit, HA solution should be available from 15.7 ESD#1
See http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1095844 (CR 681622).

Regards,
~Jaikishan
