Currently we have PB11 and our DB is Oracle 10g. We are
going to migrate our DB to 11g and we are wondering what
will be the difficulties to migrate to Oracle 11g with PB11.

I see some forums notified that PB11.5 is suitable for
Oracle 11g but I didnt see what are the
difficuties/challenges on going with PB11 to Oracle11g.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Thanks for the response Chris.

I am looking for "Can we use 10g driver to connect Oracle
11g using my Existing PB11".

Is PB11 to PB11.5 migration is free?

Thanks,
Bose

Yes, 10g driver will connect to Oracle 11g no problem.

11.5 is considered a major upgrade, so you have to pay for it. You can
upgrade to 11.2 for free. But if you are going to upgrade, you might as
well go to 12.5, the current release.

Powerbuilder communicates with Oracle Client, not the database server. You
can set sqlca.DBMS to "O10" and have Oracle Client 10 on the pc which has
the 11g server defined in tnsnames.ora and it should work. You just won't be
able to use new functions or datatypes that may have been added in 11g.
