In the process of upgrading our database backend from ASA 6.0.1 to ASE
11.9.2 an error was encountered during the PC Client install that caused the
client software to not install. Please see the attached screen shot for
specifics. It should be noted that we are currently running EA Studio 3.0.1
(maintenance patch applied) under Windows NT 4.0 SP5. This same condition
occurred during a previous software install and we were informed by Sybase
to uninstall all of EA Studio, install ASE PC Client, then re-install EA
Studio and the maintenance patch. Although it worked that time, this time
it did not. We even went so far as to remove all references to EA Studio
from the registry but still no go!

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated as we are supposed to go
into beta testing of this application this week!! HELP!

TIA -

Hello Brad,

Try to save the system path and then truncate it, leaving only winnt and
winnt\system32 , then run setup.exe, make sure the install is OK. Reboot the
machine and add the portion of the path you have truncated before.

AnaMaria -

Well, that seems to have solved the problem - the install doesn't fail.
Appreciate the assistance and let's just hope that nothing goes wrong with
the re-install of EA Studio and the Maintenance patch!:)

Thanks again,

is uninstall/reinstall of EAStudio really required ? Is there any related
Sybase documents?
Thanks.

Regards,
Sem.
