Hello,

Windows XP is not recommended as the server to install
Appeon Server. Please try the following way to solve the
problem, if it doesn't work, then you will need to install
the Appeon Server to another server which has Windows 2003,
or Windows Vista, or Windows 7, or Windows 2008 installed.

Please try this method to solve the problem on Windows XP
first:
You can use the following ways to switch the drive to the
ASA database driver to connect to asa 11 or12.

Step1.
Backup and delete the files below in the
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\appeon\AEM\bin.

iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.dll
Server.dll
code.key

Step2.
Rename those files:
iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere_12.dll
Server_asa12.dll
code_asa12.key

to:
iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.dll
Server.dll
code.key

If this solution doesn't work, please rename the files below
to try again.

Rename the files:
iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere_11.dll
Server_asa11.dll
code_asa11.key

to:
iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.dll
Server.dll
code.key

Flora

WinXP/IIS is not a recommended platform.
As long as you want toy with Appeon go ahead, but I hardly imagine an
enterprise app running on it.
Afa the error message, it is related to the Appeon server, not the web
server on port 80.
Flora's hints should fix it up.

Hi Ranjith;

It could simply be that your PC is not set-up correctly to handle
the "localhost" request. This could be because:

1) "localhost" is not described in your network properly
- try 127.0.0.1 instead! For example:
http://localhost/AEM => http://127.0.01/AEM

2) If #1 suggestion works then ...
- you probably need to add this to your network mappings:
-> c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
-> edit the HOSTS file and add a line ...
127.0.0.1 localhost

3) If in #2 you see the mapping there then it could be your web server
port assignment.
- First try "//localhost" in your web browser
-> If the Web Server does not respond - then it is not using Port
80 for HTTP traffic.
-> The fix would be to edit your Web Server configuration and
change the HTTP port to 80

4) If #3 works then localhost and port 80 are OK. Its probably a
firewall restriction. Try either:
- Edit your firewall settings to allow 127.0.0.1 traffic
- Edit your internet settings and add "localhost" to your "trusted
sites"

Note: If all of the above fails ... try using your PC name. For example:
if your PC was named Ranjith then the Appeon URL would become ->
http://Ranjith/AEM

HTH
