Hello, I would like to know if and how it is possible to
setup and use Sybase IQ Clients x64 version and x86 version
at the same time on the same machine which os is Windows
Server 2008 R2.
I need this configuration because of an SQL Server 2012 R2
Integration Services project where the designer (Visual
Studio 2010) is running in 32 bit mode and the runtime of
SQL Server 2012 is running in 64 bit and each one can only
use its (x bit-)corresponding ODBC driver.
Could anybody tell me how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Regards, Alex

It could be possible if you install 32bit and 64bit to separate IQ
client directories. One issue with Sybase I have never understood is why
do they still use %SYBASE% HOME environment for IQ. that should have
been reserved for ASE, and use a newer %SYBASE_IQ% env for SYBASE-IQ..
some things with DBMS vendors makes it so hard for customers.

But, I have packaged all the eccentric client tools for various DBMSs
and there are ways to get past these deficiencies.

I do know that MS visual studio 2010 is a 32bit only designer
environment, so it will only use the 32bit (.NET framework, assembly and
.NET providers)
