Hi,

I need to extract the data from one table. I'm connected to
my database via Interactive SQL, from my laptop.

I use this script:

SET TEMPORARY OPTION temp_extract_name1 =
'c:\table_name.dat';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Binary = 'on';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Swap = 'off';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Name2 = '';
SELECT * from table_name;
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Name1 = '';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Binary = 'off';

I can see the result of the select in my ISQL but the file
is not created. I also tried to put a full path on ,y HP/UX
server with no result. Any idea?

Thanks,
Julie

Correct way to do it in single session is

SET TEMPORARY OPTION temp_extract_name1 =
'c:\table_name.dat';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Binary = 'on';
SET TEMPORARY OPTION Temp_Extract_Swap = 'off';
SELECT * from table_name;

Abhijit

Can you confirm from where you execute this extract? This
must be executed on machine where Sybase IQ server is
running. Running from remote location will create file on
the server and not on the client.
