When I try to install ASE I get the error (see the
attachment).
For VMware and Windows Server 2008 works just fine.
All required software is installed.

Windows 2012 is not formally supported yet by ASE. This is expected in
the first half of 2013.
I don't know if that means that something won't work (like this error),
but that could be the problem.

I do not think the problem is ASE itself. Looks like the
problem is InstallAnywhere. So, it's not really anywhere :(

Make sure the VC++ 2010 re-distributable is installed as required by the
installer.

I would suggest installing all the RTs for 32 and 64-bit from 2005, 2008
and 2010, since dsedit and syconfig also require them.

I guess the problem is InstallAnywhere. I got the same for
Informix. They use same version of InstallAnywhere for the
latest Informix version and it's not working. But I was able
to download previous Informix that does not use
InstallAnywhere and it works fine.

BTW, where can I download ASE 15.5?

I don't think ASE 15.5 is downloadable anymore for the free Developer
Edition and Express Edition. These have all changed to 15.7 for some
time and older releases are then been removed for these editions.
When you are a customer with a support contract, you should still be
able to download 15.5 through the Sybase Product Download Center (SPDC).

I do not have any contract. I need it for my open source
project https://github.com/igor-tkachev/bltoolkit.
I have ase155_winx86.zip, but now I need ase155_winx64.zip.
I had to download x64 version last time two years ago :(

In that case your only option is if you find someone who has that file
still lying around and is willing to make a copy available to you.
