I'm trying to use Sybase Central (IQ) on UNIX server to have
almost all my scripts and other stuff on server level.
Sybase Central (and isql's started from SC) behavior is
awful - delays between keystrokes, cursor moving and/or row
scrolling are unpredictable (and long). On Windows Network
Client level things are much better, but I'd like to work on
UNIX level.
Sybase IQ 15.4, ESD#1, standard installation procedure.
I use Hummingbird's Exceed or Xming X11 emulators. I tried
on native X11 terminal - result is bad, too.
Explanations? Suggestions (not do use Windows!)?

My observation has been the same..

its hard to beat Sybase central on windows.. even the java version is a
lot faster than on Linux (or other UNIX flavor). I use exceed or xming
too and I only use command-line dbisql or isql from linux to ASE/IQ.
