Dear Gurus,

Now year 2013, We are now using PB12.1 (7055) deployed on
appeon 6.5.1019 (EAServer) and are happy with it. Using PB
and appeon realy speeds up our development and productivity.

We have done many workarounds since, Only one thing we face
now is, sometimes a particular datawindow cannot be saved
(without any error displayed) when updating quite (actually
now large amount) of data. (approx 50++ rows, and
13columns).

below are sample script :-

if dw_1.update() = 1 then
commit using sqlca;
else
rollback using sqlca;
messagebox('Error','Save Error')
end if

In Appeon (after datawindow rows reached 50++) when doing
update the script just going to the else statement giving
the messagebox (without any standard error displayed). The
thing is, it happened now only on certain windowxp (IE8)
client. We have not counter any problems (yet) on windows7
(IE9).

Is it some limitation of datas when transferred (web) to
update in Appeon? (we have increased our maximum pool size
to 60 - EAServer).

Should anybody have suggesstion/advise. I would appreciate
it very-very much. :)
Thank you and Regards,

Harimada.

Hi Harimada;

Are you saying that the DW updates are failing with no messages?

If, so ... did you code the Error, DBError and ItemError events to trap
DW data problems?

Hi Chris,

Yup sifoo, dw updates (in appeon) IE8 windows xp fails
without any error(s) popped up.

Already done the standard procedures.

1). Removed any advance scripts. (done)
dw event on Error, DBError and ItemError. (nothing
displayed, just pass)

2). also done trying :-
on dberror :-
messagebox(string(sqldbcode),sqlerrtext,StopSign!)
on itemerror :- return 0
on error :-
messagebox(string(errornumber),errortext,StopSign!)

Its happened only on several client IE8 windows xp only. The
clients already patched
with the latest windowsxp updates. It failed when dw rows
above 50++ only (if below its ok!)

No problem detected on our windows7 (IE9) clients.

Is its the limit of data that can be passed through http ?
Till now have not yet find solution. We are doing workaround
instead using dw_1.update(),
try to use SQL update by row.

Do tell us, if any other action we should do.
Thank you for the fast response.

Regards.
Harimada.

WoW .... that's weird!

AFAIK there is no row limitation in Appeon's AJAX implementation. Sounds
like you might want to contact Appeon Technical Support directly on this
one!

BTW: I cannot reproduce this problem on my 6.5.1045.00 release (using
.Net model). However, it could be a combination of your deployment &
environment.
