I am trying to get ASA 8.0 to work with COOL:Gen using JDBC. When running
the application, we get an errormessage "datasource does not support select
for update". I know that COOL:Gen uses cursors which use the option "FOR
UPDATE" in the select statement.

According to the Sybase documentation JDBC only supports "asensitive
cursors" which are always read-only.

Can anyone confirm that it is not possible to use the "FOR UPDATE" option
in a cursor?

Kind regards,

Dick van der Reijden

Where are you looking in the jConnect docs?
