When I query records from my database based on a string value e.g.
select * from sometable where someindex = 'VALUE'

the same results appear as when I query the following :
select * from sometable where someindex = 'VALUE '

I do not want any of these trailing blanks to appear - can this be changed
in the database or must I trim my results after each query?

Kyle,

Your database was built with ignore trailing blanks... If you want them to
be different, then you need to rebuild without this option.
