The server ASE 15.0.2 is installed on linux and I am considering to
turn off jsagent since it occupies 3 connections. Also I am not sure
if Sybase Management console is required i.e. would like not to start
it at all.

Do you have any thoughts on this?

The job scheduler (jsagent) and management console are optional services.

You can turn them off and the dataserver should still function properly.
