Hi...
We had a NT 4.0 SP4 running a test ASE 12. We *manually* removed it per
the documentation, including all the registry entries. We rebooted and
tried to install ASE 11.9.2 on the same machine. It gets to the point
where it asks if you want to tinker w/your sql.ini file, and then fails
with a series of messages:

Could not allocate context structure in syb_system-default_charset()
Could not allocate context structure in syb_system_default_language()
Could not allocate context structure in syb_system_day()
Could not allocate context structure in syb_system_month()
The log file for this session is 'D:\SYBASE\init\logs\log0000.001'

Now...there is a bug report #10235983 which is for HPUX and says something
about a corrupt /locales directory. Since this is a fresh
install, then that can't be it. Also, on bug #10569024, they say to remove
the LANG environment variable, but that doesn't exist. So...
in short, I'm stumped.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Joe

Wild guess: Try installing to C: and make sure you aren't using any long file names. I
could never get ASE 11.9.2 to install to a D: drive on an NT box.

Hi...

The original install was on the D:\ drive and it ran fine.
In fact, our other servers are on D:\ as well and they seem
to be OK as well.

I'll give it a shot though...

Thanks,
Joe
