my hardware is HP N4000 OS is 11.X

my sybase can not start , because of I set wrong total memory

how to run sp_configure to reset the sybase parameter "total memory" from
the UNIX

you can edit your config file, go to the directory where you config file is
located, run ls -ltr servername* and find the last config file before you
made your change. If you don't specify where the config files is in the
RUN_server file, then cd to $SYBASE and look there.


servername.031
servername.032
servername.033 <- use this, either edit the RUN_server file
with -c/path/to/cfg \ or mv servername.033 servername.cfg
servername.cfg

restart server, and configure to an amount of memory you can use.
