We are converting our applications from PowerBuilder 5.0.04 to Powerbuilder
7.0 but when we attempt to run them on a Terminal Server we intermittantly
get the following error:
DB Error code 2402
Error converting client characters into server's character set. Some
character(s) could not be converted.

This is being done on ASE 11.5.1 and all in English.

What can we do to correct this error? We cannot identify any one program
or object that gets this but several clients get this one time but not the
next.

What to do?

try to set

sp_configure "enable unicode",1

on the the server with isql or through sybase central's server configuration

maybe the old Powerbuilder version converts character codes by itself and
the new version uses server side conversion. At least this option helped me
to solve the problem with System 12 and different versions of a sqlbatch
program

I have try to set sp_configure "enable unicode",1

After I execute the command , I can not connect to sybase Server
It says "Msg 2423,Level 18,State 2 Line 1
Unexpected error returned from Unilib functions; return value=1,
No conversions will be done "

If I use Sybase Center to connected to Sybase Server, it says
"The SQL Server is terminating this process."

What can I do Now?
Urgent!!! Do I have to reinstall the ASE?
