I have installed ASE 12.0 Eval on a W2K cluster. (Active/Passive)
Everything install correctly, but when I move the group to the second node,
the generic service for ASE Server fails.

I followed the instructions from the web site.
-Installed ASE 12.0 Eval on shared disk
-Created a IP Resource for the ASE Server
-Created a network name foe the ASE Server
-Created a generic service for ASE Server failover
-Created a generic service for ASE backup Server failover
-Created a generic service for ASE monitor Server failover
-Edited the SQL.INI to point to the VIP using DSEDIT
-Created the environment variables on the second node

During the creation of the generic service resource for the ASE Server,
registry keys have to be entered, but I can not enter
Application\<ASEServerName>.

Does anyone have any ideas?

What error messages appear in the error log / NT event log when the service
fails?

These look like the steps for pre-12.0 servers. 12.0 understands the cluster
platform and creates its own application groups using sp_companion. You
normally need a licence to enable this functionality and I don't know if the
demo allows this.

What _exactly_ are you typing in and where? (Regedit? MS Cluster Manager?) Do
you get an error message?

You need to supply a bit more information.
