Hi,

We have a licensed version of iAnyhwhere running within the organisation.
However, I have installed an evaluation of the Manage Anywhere Studio prior
to the official install next week by iAnywhere UK and come across a
problem.

When I restart the server, only one of the products will work. This seems
to depend on which service started first. At the moment, the iAnywhere
product is working and is the most important, but the Web Server status is
showing as Red. If I reboot and the Web Server comes up Green, then
iAnywhere fails to work. I think this could be a port conflict problem. Can
you assist?

I also cannot get the Micro Agent down to the PDA whatever I try. If I
browse to \\<servername>\MA2000 with a PDA and download SETUP.EXE, the file
is not valid on a PDA. It works for a PC connection. I'm not sure if this
is related to the above problem?

Hope you can help soon.

Regards

Hi Graham,

What version of MAS are you using and on what operating system is the
Primary Command Server installed on? In order to get you up and running
quickly, I would suggest you start both databases on the same engine rather
than two separate engines. When you refer to the licensed version of
"iAnywhere" are you refering to ASA? If so, what version of ASA are you
using?

With regards to the PDA problem, I have the same type of questions. What is
the device type and what operating system is running on it? Once I have
this information I can assist you more effectively.

Eric,

I am using MAS v4.5 that is on the evaluation CD disk set. This is running
on an NT4 SP6a server with IIS 4.0.

How do I run the 2 databases on the same engine? Please can you provide
information on how to do this?

I do not know what ASA is? We are currently running a licensed version of
iAnywhere for the customer I am working at, but Manage Anywhere is just an
eval version at the moment.

I am using 2 devices:

1) Casio Cassiopeia EG800 - Pocket PC
2) Compaq iPAQ 3970 - Pocket PC 2002

Hope you can help.

Graham

Hi Graham,
The label 'iAnywhere' really doesn't tell us what product you are using.
You have ruled out Adaptive Server Anywhere (ASA) which is our core database
product and part of the SQL Anywhere Studio product, we still don't know if
you are using m-Business Studio? Wireless Server? Mail Anywhere?

Hi,

Thanks for your response. I have been speaking with Tech Support in the UK
and have now got both databases running under one service as required. This
will enable me to use Mail Anywhere and Manage Anywhere Studio on the same
server.
