This is VERY UNTRUE. I suggest you tell the whisperer to
get his or her facts right first. They weren't an Oracle
wonk by the way?

Sybase need to quash this before it gets wings....you know what
chinese whispers can do.

Thanks for the replies, I told them I couldn't see it myself,
since Sybase have such a lot going for them Database wise
compared to the other database vendors! :-)

Just get the marketing right.......

Tricia.

Oh ye gullible....

Time to learn not to just believe anything, or read every e-mail as if it
was from your best friend.

BTW I've heard that Redmond is considering getting out of the O/S
business...
...and I'm not the one starting this one, it comes from the horses mouth.

"We've been down this particular road before a couple of times during and
prior to the trial, and we've had Microsoft threatening to ship broken
versions of operating systems before. But this time the company seems to be
threatening to withdraw Windows from the market entirely, and not develop
or ship it ever again"

Humorous stuff, and really entertaining, so PLEASE do NOT take this too
seriously.

I couldn't help but think of the attached link with regards to your last
comment. In particular the third paragaph from the end.

Yes, funny isn't it.

They already have. Tell the whisperers to get up to date.
Seems to happen every now and again. Larry Ellison will
get alarmed about Sybase and they put out a comment saying
that they're dead. I didn't think anybody took any notice
of him any more.

My understanding was that it was Oracle. <smirk>

Seriously, untrue. Seems there was a recent article where someone
from within Sybase was misquoted by the press (oh big surprise?)
