I got PowerJ build 83 and need to connect to out SQL Server 11. I put a
transaction component on the
form, and set the database driver to the jconnect on, and put in
"jdbc:sybase:Tds:ip address of the server:port", so for example
"jdbc:sybase:Tds:1.2.3.4:5000"

Question: What database will I now be in? master? How do I connec to a
different database?

Thanks,

Frank

You will be in the default database for the user that
you logged in as.

This is no different as it would be if you used the isql that ships
with the SQL Server.

You can do an explicit 'use dbname' or append a '/dbname'
to the URL that you have listed below...

Lance,

Looks like you've had some success with jConnect....

I can connect to Sybase's server on their URL jdbc.sybase.com, but when
I try to connect to our own server, with the same PowerJ sample app, I
get the error ..."java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException".

Any ideas? Have you gotten this to work on your own server?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Paul.
