NT 4.0 SP4
ASE 12 w/latest build
MS Exchange 5.5

Hi, I have been struggling with using email through Sybase. Has anyone
gotten it to work!?! I keep getting the CMC error even though I have read
all the documents from Sybase about 30x. Exchange is working fine. Any
suggestions would be appreciated. A solution would be a godsend. Thanks in
advance.

John

Hi, I had the same problem. Are you by chance on Windows 2000?

Or is the xp_server automatically starting at the boot up?

I had a case open with Sybase and finally I had to switch to WinNT 4.0 and
have the xp_server start automatically through services. Changed the start
mail session to 1 in the Sybase configuration file. After reboot everything
just started to work correctly...

Shahin

I am able to start the xp server using xp_cmdshell, but when
trying to use email I still get the cmc error. Have you gotten the xpserver
to work using xp_startmail "loginid", "password"!?!Thanks in advance.

John
