ASA does lot of disk management for caching etc., Pages and read from disk
and Pages are written back to Disk. My question is does ASA by pass the
Filesystem manager and stars writing on the physical disk or request
Filesystem manager (of volume manager) to do??.

If the answer is ASA does its own file system management is there any
option for going though the file system???(NFS)

Thanks

I'll assume Novell since you referred to NFS (as opposed to NTFS which would
be Windows). On Novell we use Direct FS to manage the files.

You don't mention what version or build number you are using and you don't
mention if you are seeing a particular problem. The more details you can
provide the more we'll be able to help out.
