In ASE 12.5 you can write a stored procedure that will be executed at login for a
connection. In this procedure you can execute the set commands.

oh...i did ..
but the set command just work under that store procedure...
when the procedure end....it change back...

try this
-------------proc_test----------------------
create proc proc_test
as
set arithabort unmeric_truncation off
print @@options
-------------proc_test----------------------

then...try
1>proc_test
2>go
1>select @@options
.....u'll see what's going on....
but thanx anyway....

Sorry. I'm confusing my Sybase products. The ability to execute a stored procedure
automatically at login is an ASA feature not an ASE feature.

Yes it does have that feature but finding information about it in the online manuals is
next to impossible. I had to go back to the classroom material for 12.5 to find the
syntax.

There's a writeup about login triggers at www.sypron.nl/logtrig.html ,
incl. some examples. I wrote it when I found out that the official
Sybase docs don't say very much about it at all...
