F0lks,
We currently have Adaptive Server 11.9.2 on WinNT machine. It has one
database with a much of tables, stored procedures and data. I would like to

get a copy of this database to be created on a separate machine (there is
no network connection between the two). Are there utilities that will let
me do this. If so what are they.

Thanx

create the database on the target machine, with the exact same disk
fragments added to the database in the exact same order.
(using the for load clause will speed things up)

dump the database either to tape, or to disk and run a backup of the disk

place tape in target and restore to disk, or load database from tape.

More specifics are available in the system administration guide at

PS. This is the 11.5 doc set, 11.9.2 only had a "whats new" book

George,
The only problem is the source is on UNIX and the traget is WinNT 4.0.
Is there any way to create a bunch of SQL scripts and run the scripts on
the target machine to create the tables and SProceures

Thanx

you can use Sybase central, or pick up dbschema.pl at
http://www.midsomer.org/. You can use bcp to migrate the data. Since there
is no network between the machines you will have to use tapes to shuffle the
data
