Hi,

I am using mobile manager 4.0. I am trying to install some applications
from the mobile manager console onto a docked palm. I cannot seem to get
anything to work. Does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks,
Steven Latham

Steven,

Can you describe the error that you are receiving? Is the Palm device
recognized under the Docked Devices group?

No. I can't seem to get anything to be recognized by the system. I have
reinstalled the agent on the PC and it will not even let me retrieve data
from the PC. I think if I could get that to work I might be able to get
other things to work. It is not giving me any error. When I tell the
mobile manager to send the package to the PC it says it sends it but
nothing happens. The only thing I have been able to send to the PC is a
agent update. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Steven

1. Is HotSync Manager installed on this client PC and synching properly
with this Palm device?

2. Have you got a chance to go to the System Tray of the client PC, click
on the Mobile Manager agent icon (the one with a computer sitting in front
of a globe) and see the messages of the client agent. Is it able to
communicate with the Command Server properly?

3. Is your client agent scanning at all? What's the scan frequency?

4. If you send a "Get Systems Inventory" task to this client computer,
would it respond at all?

1. Is HotSync Manager installed on this client PC and synching properly
with this Palm device?

Yes, I am able to install programs to the palm from the PC.

2. Have you got a chance to go to the System Tray of the client PC, click
on the Mobile Manager agent icon (the one with a computer sitting in front
of a globe) and see the messages of the client agent. Is it able to
communicate with the Command Server properly?

Yes, it says it is communicating with the command server. I even sent an
update agent package to the PC and it worked.

3. Is your client agent scanning at all? What's the scan frequency?

Yes, It scans every minute.

4. If you send a "Get Systems Inventory" task to this client computer,
would it respond at all?

No, I have tried many times to try to get a systems inventory of the PC and
nothing happens. It doesn't even show up in the mobil manager control
panel. I have tried this from the command server and from a remote control
panel and nothing happens.

Thanks for you help

Steven Latham

I restarted the server and everything seems to be working now. I was even
able to install to the palm. Thankyou so much for all of your help.
