Hello,

I am just looking for some feedback on the below system catalog views. I
use them all the time for simplified coding, problem determination, change
utilities, and a schema comparison process that I have written. If any
users think this would be useful I can provide documentation. Thanks.

IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.SINF_ALIASES') IS NOT NULL
BEGIN
DROP VIEW dbo.SINF_ALIASES
IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.SINF_ALIASES') IS NOT NULL
PRINT '<<< FAILED DROPPING VIEW dbo.SINF_ALIASES >>>'
ELSE
PRINT '<<< DROPPED VIEW dbo.SINF_ALIASES >>>'
END
go
CREATE VIEW SINF_ALIASES
AS
-- Author: Ryan Putnam
-- Intent: Catalog View

SELECT SUSER_NAME(sa.suid) AS 'ALIASING_LOGIN'
, SUSER_NAME(sa.altsuid) AS 'ALIASED_LOGIN'
, su.name AS 'USER_NM'
FROM sysalternates sa
, sysusers su
WHERE sa.altsuid = su.suid
go
IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.SINF_ALIASES') IS NOT NULL
PRINT '<<< CREATED VIEW dbo.SINF_ALIASES >>>'
ELSE
PRINT '<<< FAILED CREATING VIEW dbo.SINF_ALIASES >>>'
go
IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.SINF_BLOCKS') IS NOT NULL
BEGIN
DROP VIEW dbo.SINF_BLOCKS
IF OBJECT_ID('dbo.SINF_BLOCKS') IS NOT NULL
PRINT '<<< FAILED DROPPING VIEW dbo.SINF_BLOCKS >>>'
ELSE
PRINT '<<< DROPPED VIEW dbo.SINF_BLOCKS >>>'
END
go
CREATE VIEW SINF_BLOCKS
AS
-- Author: Ryan Putnam
-- Intent: Catalog View

SELECT SUSER_NAME(sp2.suid) AS 'BLKD_LOGIN'
, sp2.spid AS 'BLKD_SPID

Will do... I'll provide the documentation and the rest of the code
tomorrow.

Thanks.
