Hi, I have a doubt about exchange data between SQL AnyWhere Studio 8.0.1
and mobile devices. Try to imagine the following situation: in my device
(Pocket PC or Palm), I have an application where the user puts a serial
number. Then, my app (written using eVC++/CW8) needs to execute a ?remote
sql? in the ?consolidated database? to get info using serial number as key.
After returning, I need to display info to the user. Below I show the
process flow:

-> App Screen
-> User input serial
-> App ?connects? to consolidated database to execute ?select fields
from table where serial = user_serial?
<- returned info
<- app shows the returned info.
<- Second screen to user

My question is: Is it possible to ?execute a remote SQL? in mobile devices?
I know that SQL AnyWhere Studio 8.0.1 has resources as
Ultralite/MobilyLink/ASA, but I believe that I can?t ?send a specific SQL
command? from the client app to the consolidated database. Can anyone help
me?

Thanks,

Baccarin.

Take a look at proxy tables. They provide the functionality you seek.

I don't think Proxy tables are supported in the ASA engine on CE devices. You could certainly do this using UltraLite.
See my response in the Ultralite newsgroup.
