i have version
Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere Network Server Version 8.0.2.4239
--------
According to the help file, this command should create a java enabled DB:
create database
'c:\\tmp\\___achen2.db'
page size 16384
jconnect on
java jdk '1.3'

When first done, it complains it cannot find rt.jar.
The help files says where that should be, so i go to
C:\Program Files\Sybase\Shared\Sun\jre131\lib
and get the rt.jar there and copy it over. Now it finds it BUT

when i creae the db it says complains of version mismatch 1.3 vs. 1.3.1.

So i try to say java jdk '1.3.1' and it says 'unsupported version'.

Then the engine GPFd and died.

What is the correct steps/where is the correct rt.jar?

You need a special install key to install java support.
If you have it, after you run the install, you should have a java directory
under your SQL Anywhere 9 directory. This directory contains the
subdirectories "1.1" and "1.3" which contain the required jar files to
initialize a java enabled database.

See the documentation. It has the links from where you can order the Java in
the Database option. Look for the topic Java in the Database.
